Dr. Durone E. Hepburn was born in Nassau, Bahamas and grew up in Freeport, Grand Bahamas. He was saved through a Christian television program at eleven (11) years of age. Through a step of faith, he moved to Florida to attend the College of Boca Raton, now Lynn University. He then moved to New Smyrna Beach to train under a local ministry. Through the trials and tests he endured in New Smyrna Beach, J.U.M.P Ministries International Church (J.M.I.C.) was birthed. It stands for "Joyously Unveiling the Master's Plan" and the scriptural foundation for the ministry is found in Romans 8:19, "The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed."
Dr. Hepburn's many gifts made room for him, as he transitioned into his official pastoral duties as Bishop Durone. He has spoken and delivered prohetic words throughout the United States and internationally. J.M.G.C. expanded to include several churches in the central Florida area as well as in Africa where Dr. Hepburn has traveled extensively. Ordained Bishop in 1998, Bishop Hepburn continued to meet the needs of the community through outreach, street evangelism, and instituting ministry homes for men, women, and children. Bishop Hepburn furthered his education and received his Bachelor's Degree in Religious Education from International Seminary and went on to receive his Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from St. Thomas Christian College in 2006.
In August 2007, Dr. Durone Hepburn received a gift from God and met his helpmeet, First Lady Phuong Hepburn; formerly, Ms. Phuong Lu. Lady Phuong Hepburn was born in Saigon, Vietnam and migrated to Florida in 1986. Lady Phuong graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2004 in Hospitality Management and currently completing her MasterŐs of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Upon her impending marriage to the Bishop, Lady Phuong went through many trials and tribulations for the decision of becoming a born again Christian. Coming from a Buddhist background, which consist of worshipping various Gods and ancestors, the strongholds of keeping the culture and tradition alive within her family was always first and foremost in her life.
However, in 2007 with a one-time planned visit to J.U.M.P.Ős Sunday service, Lady Phuong found and personally experience the unconditional joy, freedom, and contentment through Christ that she knew no man-kind could explain nor provide. After years of self-condemnation, depression, and oppression, -breaking tradition, she is now simply joyous in Him! Lady Phuong paid a price to walk with Christ, following the scripture "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me." Matthew 10: 37-38. In her culture, the decision was perceived as a lack of respect and dishonorable for her family and ancestors. This remains her cross to bear; however, her heart and loyalty has been towards Christ since 2007, and will remain as she understood God's promise of salvation for her entire family.
Lady Hepburn also currently serves as Head of Operation for J.U.M.P. Ministries Global Church
